Assessment: I plan to make honest assessments in my classroom, to assess what has been working and what has not. I believe regular assessment is important as it allows teachers to determine their students levels of learning to fit their individual learning needs. Through assessment I will be able to make adaptions to my lessons and alter my instructions strategy approaches in various ways to ensure optimal learning experiences for all my students.
Acknowledgment: I plan to teach my students the importance behind acknowledging the land we are on as an act of reconciliation. Â Recognizing the traditional territory of the Indigenous people who called the land home before the arrival of settlers.
Environment: I plan to provide my students with a positive warm and welcoming environment, where my students feel safe and valued. I want to encourage students to have conversations and share ideas and viewpoints. I want my students to know that their voices are meant to be heard, and that whatever they have to say is valued and important.
My Own Learning: I know I will make mistakes as a teacher, and I know that it is okay and will learn from them and continue to be the best teacher I can be. Being a teacher does not mean I know everything, and i want my students to know that. I am not perfect and I plan to teach and learn alongside my students.
Feedback: I plan to give my students honest feedback to help my students understand the content being taught and gives them clear guidance on how to improve their learning.
